: Passionate, Honorable, Stoic, Confident, Cunning, and Calm. Once an Overseer of Shadow in Warfang, it is said that his true nature shines through when he is surrounded by whelps: not a kinder individual among the Kurosians can be seen. A scholar at heart, Asiirha has a deep love for Kurosian history, science, and mythology, and loves his people dearly. Enough so that he was willing to be used as a bartering chip between both their distant cousins, the Fear and Poison flocks, as well as the people of Warfang, in order to begin restoring the balance between Light and Dark. Aside from Queen Feuriah herself, there are few other Kurosians who understand and are willing to make sacrifices for that balance. He has in him a great deal of conflict, however; despite the way he was raised, Asiirha is a hopeless romantic, and throughout his life harbors a few unrequited crushes that go beyond social acceptance for the Kuros. To make matters worse, none of these dalliances involved his mate, the Matriarch of the Fear Dragons.
History : Asiirha is one of a very rare few Kurosians born with black bones; this is a mutation that occurs once every millennia or so. Those born with black bones are incredibly tied to Darkness, and Dark Magic comes as naturally to them as breathing. Normally it is marked by insanity, though in even rarer cases than the bones themselves, there are some who suffer no insanity. It wasn't discovered until his early days outside of the rookery that Asiirha is the latter, though he was sometimes prone to bouts of incredible violence. So long as none of his rookery brothers and sisters were killed, however, this wasn't cause for alarm. It was seen as a good sign, that Asiirha would someday become a great soldier, perhaps even climbing the ranks to Warlord.
This was the hope of his father, Maeldun Clochvok, a Warlord who served in the King and Queen's army during their reign. Maeldun took a special interest in his son's rearing, crossing the normal boundaries of the role a sire (or dam) would take in their child's life within Kurosian culture. In Asiirha's case, this wasn't so much encouraged as it was allowed. Were it not for Maeldun, Asiirha's mind might have been shaped into something much more twisted. The stern, militaristic way that Maeldun raised Asiirha gave the dragon the structure and stability he needed.
When he came of breeding age, Maeldun encouraged King Burdohk to seek out and form a peace treaty with the Puros and the Aryos flocks. Self-named descendants of the Kuros, whom had long ago lost many traits that made them true Kuros, but still possessing bones of Kuronium, albeit weakened by generations of breeding outside their own kind. These Fear and Poison dragons were seen as reckless and untamed, archaic compared to the structured lives that the Kuros led. So it was that King Burdohk and Maeldun struck up the treaty, and sealed it with a living sacrifice: Asiirha, whom was to be mated to the Puros Patriarch's daughter, Roxandara.
On becoming mated to her, it was Asiirha's duty to 'correct' the way that the Fear and the Poisons dragons lived, and he did just that. Much like himself, the Fear and Poison flocks merely needed structure and stability, and many were more than willing to change their ways in order to serve the Darkness. Eventually he became known to them as their 'Herald,' the one who brought about the best change for the flocks in many generations.
Roxandara encouraged Asiirha to call himself a herald, eventually manipulating him into believing he could influence even the forces of good. Mainly, those who called Warfang their home. Despite their fear of the normally evil and antagonistic breeds that Asiirha, Roxandara, and their Poison Ambassador Atropine, represented, Warfang's Guardians allowed the trio to join their people. In truth, Asiirha was making some headway with the people of Warfang, and although he knew they could never all truly live peacefully in harmony, he believed that he was following the right path. But that all began to change when the three of them met Malefor.
For many years, Asiirha's memories were wiped clean. He remembers little about his life until he turned on Roxandara, ripping off her head in his jaws when she was mere seconds from murdering Voteil, Asiirha's nephew and Queen Feuriah's eldest son. In order to escape the twisted hold Roxandara had had over him, Asiirha made a deal with the Kurosian God that lives within the Veil of Darkness: Breithonakt. So it was that Breithonakt cursed Asiirha with immortality, denying him death except for at the claws of one of his closest friends: The Lost Queen herself, or one of her descendants. So ashamed was he by the fact that he had failed his own people and to save Voteil, Asiirha fled from Kurosia, deep into the Skylands, disappearing for well over a hundred years....
Facts:
  • Asiirha is actually a huge nerd when it comes to all things Kuros. He's the poster-child for a Kuros fanboy, and often educates those who aren't Kuros about his people, if they're curious.
  • Had a very close relationship with his mother as well as Maeldun, though there was more son-and-mother love between him and his dam. With Maeldun, Asiirha was mostly afraid of him.
  • It wasn't until Asiirha returned to Kurosia with Malefor that Asiirha began to feel resentment towards Kurogh. He'd tried, many times during their youth, to form some sort of relationship with his half-brother, and the only sibling close to him in age and alive by the time they knew one another. When returning to Kurosia, Kurogh would often taunt Asiirha, claiming he 'wasn't truly a Kuros' because he'd spent so much of his life not living among their people. Kurogh also insulted Asiirha's love for academia.
  • If Asiirha hadn't been mated to Roxandara, he likely would have courted Feuriah. The two used to tease one another about this. (Something Roxandara and Kurogh both HATED, resulting in the two having hate affairs behind the Queen and Asiirha's backs.)
  • Asiirha and Roxandara only ever had one child: Laufeia,  The All Mother. An extremely deformed result of the mutual hatred the pair felt for one another, Laufeia is more of a giant cobra with wings than a dragon, with over fifty eyes on her entire body. The only one that can truly see is the one on the top of her skull, which is the largest one. Laufeia hates Dragonkind with a passion, and has used her ability to breed with them in order to give birth to over ten thousand wryms that share a hive-mind with her. Their mission is a simple one: make dragons go extinct.
  • Asiirha and Gaea's father, Astraeus, are cousins.
  • Asiirha's great loves that defied Kuros culture were: Brissa and Feuriah, respectively. Depending on the universe, both pairs end up having an egg that is eventually raised by Cynder, or Cynder and Spyro.

Asiirha needed a revamp, and badly. This version of Asiirha is essentially how he's represented in all the universes he exists in: The Legend of Spyro, Weird/Skylanders, and the Kurosia 'Verse. I wanted to give him a few more features that made him look like his mom and dad's kid, namely the nose plates and the Shire markings around his eyes and chin-horns.

Also I'd like to point out that all of the lore is canon here. Asiirha's story has existed well before a lot of the fan-Kuros that have been coming about. In fact, if memory serves, Weird surprised me when she informed me about the lore when I made Asiirha an obsidian boned Kuros. I offered to change it, because I'm not the type to make one of those rare types of characters to flaunt it around, but Asiirha's stayed the same design-wise ever since.

This was also obviously inspired by this piece, because damn. Celtic knots and whatnot. That and Asiirha needed more love again. He was getting pissy.
